One-Liners

This week I had a great opportunity to listen and talk to executives from some of the top financial institutions in the United States. Here are some quick words of wisdom I gathered from my week:

Find your answers when things are quiet.

It is easier to swim downstream.

Quick Tips for Success:
1. Get a life.
2. Build a board of directors who are willing to constructively criticize.
3. Do your homework
4. Be empowered but NOT entitled.

Have a passionate point of view to untangle.

You become a better leader by being authentic.

You can't control the wind, but you can adjust the sails.

Wish me luck as I search for an internship. Like one of these wise men said, "Getting an internship on Wall Street is a game." Hopefully by the beginning of the summer i'll have a winning record.

Car Issues

I've been having a few car issues. They are mostly all a product of my recent brainlessness due to my crazy schedule. All of these issues are embarrassing. I am not normally a bad driver.

Early October:

I was parking my car in the parking garage. I didn't put my car in park, I was sitting in my spot zoning out after a long day at school. I decided I needed to grab something from the passenger side, but I slowly let my foot off the break until the car gently ran into the wall. Car crash #1. I came home and told my roommates I got into a car crash. There isn't any mark anymore.

Late October:

This is the most embarrassing thing. I thought my car was stolen. I called the police, I remembered I left my car on campus during my phone call. Enough said.

Early November:

Got pulled over speeding by a BYU cop. I was dropping off a friend to a meeting she was late to. I had a reason to speed. BUT I couldn't find my registration and I was very honest with him. I told him I knew I was speeding. When he came back to talk to me I got let off with a warning because he appreciated my honesty.

Today:

I found a big scratch on my car, don't know where it came from... I think I got hit while I was parked in my assigned parking spot. FAIL. The investigation begins.

lost?

Someone REALLY needs a GPS.
Starting P.S. I love you at 11pm was a poor decision.
Find your way, please.

bad arrin.

Here is my newly formed bad habit. Do the math.

+

I love cookie dough. Cookie dough is calorie packed, and I ate 24 pre-made cookie dough balls this week.
I love Special K. Special K has 110 calories per serving. I could eat it every day.

But mixing these polar opposite on the healthy scale snacks/meals (Yes, cookie-dough was my dinner last night) is probably the worst idea I've ever had. If I was expected to gain 15 pounds when I was a freshman, how many pounds should I expect to gain now?
