ragnar relay

Last weekend I ran approximately 13 miles in the middle of the Nevadan desert. "The Valley of Fire."(But it was chilly) There were too many joshua trees to count.
My first leg of the race was awesome. It was 3 miles long and I had ten kills. I had a really nerdy head lamp and reflector vest on even though it wasn't dark. I think this is a picture from right after my first leg. (These are all Taylor's pictures, I didn't bring my camera) Bree, Aubreigh, Steve and I. If you look really close you can see the mark on my forehead from my head lamp.
I hate porter potties so much. I saw hundreds of them throughout the race. The toilet paper sucks. The hand sanitizer makes your hands smell weird. And everyone does gross things when they are racing.

After this we cheered for the rest of the team and then grabbed some subway sandwiches to supplement our diet of cliff brand products (including cliff shots, cliff bars and GU energy jell). We tried to fall asleep in a parking lot for a few hours, but our team was running too fast so we had to cut the sleep and drive the suburban to catch our runner.

I ran my next leg at about 2am, 6 miles, all slightly up hill. Pretty aggravating--because the only light I could see was coming from headlamps, tail lights of both cars and led's on the reflector vests and the moon. I could tell that the people ahead of me in the distance were running uphill. And aggravating because some bozo moved the "1 mile left" cone so I actually had about 1.5 to go.

That night I slept on top of a suburban and woke up with a hippie offering me a banana for breakfast.
If you can't tell, the guy in the picture above was wearing a thong over his spandex, and I hi-fived him. This picture was from my last leg around mile 11 or 12. I look nasto.

The rest of the race was fine, physically draining but I LOVED ragnar and will do it again.
Team Fugitive. 195 miles. 31 hours, 12 minutes, 23 seconds.

Robert says it all

Sometimes I feel like this...
because I care too much about too many things.
News flash--it is {ALMOST} impossible to do everything.
I might be planning to drop the ball.
4 days.

Phonezies

This old blackberry has FREED me from my gmail inbox. Because of this I am no longer chained to my laptop and I carry around less stuff! My back has been saved. My phone will cure my mild scoliosis and osteoporosis. I am convinced.

However... I am now a bit addicted to the little bugger. And I come off as a Creeper McCreepster because I reply to emails faster than texts.

And I do not have scoliosis or osteoporosis. No need for fosamax.

#1 Fan Club

I love my fans. THANK YOU for coming, making signs, giving sweaty hugs and high fives. The fist pounds were appreciated and even though the screaming made me feel awkward, I was glad you were there.
Team Victorioso (2-0-0)
Game 1: 5-2
Game 2: 9-0
Personal goal count: 4

Date Night

In the mormon culture there is one weekend dedicated to a combination of mission reunions, man-fests, man-dates and manly bonding. The infamous weekend was this weekend. As a result, Leslie and I went on a HOT DATE. This was no ordinary date...it was a marathon date. But we loved it. (Advice to guys taking girls out--you need to give them a easy way out of a marathon date. They are normally not good ideas.)
This is what we did.

We went to color me mine for 2 hours.
A man told me that I was an EXPERT at painting.
Leslie and I had deep meaningful conversations. SOOO romantic.
Then we went to dinner, I paid. We saw Jerico Road while we were there.
Leslie paid for the massive piece of chocolate cake. We got home pretty late, and almost shared our cake with some friends--but not quite.

To all of those guys at BYU who haven't seen Leslie or I this weekend, we are planning more dates and our schedules are filling up quickly. BEST DATE EVER.

We are not lesbians, just to clarify.
