cross country trip

So I feel a little bit guilty. I drove back home to Connecticut with my mom--32 hours. But I drove a grand total of 4. My mom is a trooper. In my defense my eye was bloodshot and I really didn't see much of the country that we drove through. Its a good thing there wasn't a ton to see. But that didn't stop my mom from saying OOH LOOK AT THAT about every hour when she knew that I couldn't see a thing. Here are some of the things I did see. Unfortunately the Illinois-Indiana-Ohio-Pennsylvania-New Jersey-New York stretch is missing pictures. I tried to take some over the Tapanzee Bridge but it was way too dark.

This is a REALLY sketchy gas station in the middle of Wyoming. We were out of gas--I am not exaggerating here, we were running on fumes and the dial was so far empty that it wasn't even in the red anymore. I don't know how we made it, the people running the gas station had to turn on the lights for us. Luckly they opened up the station and we were able to get gas and continue driving, but with hardly any cell reception, no gas and really no civilization it was scary. I called 911 a grand total of three times on my mom's order. Maybe that was too much, it turns out it wasn't so much of an emergency but I guess it seemed like it at the time.

I love the east coast--I forgot about how humid it actually is and I finally felt like I could breathe again. In Utah I feel like I am a fish out of water and I always feel like I am suffocating when I run.
Speaking of running again, I CAN! I haven't yet because I am supposed to "take it easy" with my knee. But I do not have any tears in my knee, I only dislocated my knee cap and with some R and R I should be up to tip top shape. so no more of this:

On that note, it is officially summer time! Cape Cod tomorrow with some bros

during finals, really?!

Ok, here is a small background about my college life injury list during finals...

First semester freshman year-- I was recovering from shoulder surgery, I couldn't use my right arm at all during finals so I had to bubble in my answers lefty. Not to mention take notes with my left hand and only type on my computer with my left hand. (I can't believe i'm posting this picture but it captures the whole situation. I couldn't shower, couldn't wear real clothes, was drugged on Vicodin for a few weeks straight, couldn't use my right arm at all which meant I had the same hair-do for a week. All in all I was a real live crazy person.)

Second semester Freshman year--I had mono which meant 16 hours of sleep per day, so studying was pretty hard.

I thought my bad luck streak was over. During the fall I went through finals unscathed, winter--just had a bad cold. THEN, yesterday right when I thought I would get through the school year without a major injury I had a collision during pick up soccer and now I have to get an MRI. Someone is SERIOUSLY out to get me and my gpa.

I should have taken a picture of my knee before they drained the blood out of it. Don't get queasy but... they numbed me up a bit before they jabbed me with a long needle and sucked a syringe and a quarter of blood out of my swelling. Approx 500ml. The current guesstimate is that I tore my LCL, its no LOL-- but I'll find out FER REAL tomorrow hopefully. I've been on hold with the MRI scheduler at the hospital for the past 36 minutes. Wish me luck!

Spring

Spring term is weird because it's summer for most people, but not me. And it feels like I go to a wedding reception/bridal shower every week. I keep thinking that I'm supposed to be here for a long long time but it isn't going to happen.

Here's an introduction to my spring roommates. From left to right:

Karoline--Shes friends with MK, plays soccer and dances to shakira videos at 4am with me, has a hot bod and unfortunately is not single. Sorry boys.
Jane--The nicest girl ever, she's my east coast buddy (DC) and is dating a guy from my home ward. Talk about small world. Once again, she is not single.
Kaitlin--I have known her since my first day of freshman year, love her to death. She has a sweet book called "how to be sexy" by carmen electra that has taught everyone in the apartment a few things. I am not going to disclose any information about her personal life. Ask her yourself.

I went to Di and Ted's wedding reception a few weeks ago and it was AWESOME. I got to see MK and Eliza, they haven't changed one bit.

Spring term has been a-freakin-mazing and ill do it again next year.
Is it a bad thing that my eyes always hurt from reading my calc textbook?
